The Holy Father, Pope Leo, has today appointed Fr Josef Grünwidl as Archbishop of Vienna.  

Since Cardinal Schönborn retired in January he has been leading the Diocese as Apostolic Administrator.

Born in 1963, he was ordained a Priest in 1988.  He has worked in various parishes in the City of Vienna, as well as in the South of Diocese.

We wish him God's blessing as he takes up this daunting task.
